Today will be another mild day in Denver, but snow pops in and out of the forecast over the next few days, and it may mean a white Christmas.
The mountains and foothills should experience stiff winds today, with gusts up to 60 mph, ahead of a front that should bring some moisture to the state, according to the National Weather Service.
Weather out of the West will come at Colorado in waves over the next few days.
The high temperature in the Denver area could climb to 50 degrees today. Tonight will be mostly cloudy with a low of around 28 degrees.
On Friday, snow is likely in Denver after 11 a.m., and the high for the day should be about 36 degrees, the weather service reports. About 2 inches of snow is possible.
Saturday should be mostly sunny in Denver with a high near 28, and Sunday, there is a 20 percent chance of snow. Sunday’s forecast high temperature for Denver is 29 degrees.
On Monday, it’s back to mostly sunny skies in Denver, and on Tuesday, Christmas Day, there’s a slight chance of snow. The high temperature in Denver should be about 38 degrees on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.
Snow in the north and central mountains could start today, with 1 to 3 inches possible during the day and another 2 to 4 inches possible overnight.
Snow in the mountains should continue Friday, with 1 to 3 inches possible before decreasing overnight Friday into early Saturday morning.
