An elderly man drove through three back yards in a Jefferson County suburb Saturday afternoon, crashing through fences along the way, authorities say.

The man, who apparently lost control of his car because of a medical condition, has been taken to a Littleton hospital for treatment, said Gilbert Mares, Colorado State Patrol spokesman.

The driver’s name and age were not released and his condition was not immediately known.

The man was driving a blue-gray 2002 Toyota sedan east on West Ute Avenue when the car veered off the right side of the road and crashed through three back yards on the 8700 block of West Ute Avenue, he said.
