New Year’s Eve tradition at Pikes Peak

The tradition was started in 1922 bythe AdAmAn Club in Colorado Springs, according to the group’swebsite, adaman.com. The club is dedicated to the “frozen five,”Ed Morath, Fred Morath, Fred Barr, Willis Magee and HarryStandley. Each year the group would “add a man” to the climb,and at midnight they would set off fireworks to usher in the newyear.
