
Frontier Airlines is hoping to win an Emmy next month, after its “favorite animal” campaign garnered a nomination in the technology and engineering category.
Advertising firm Grey Worldwide New York created the campaign for Frontier in January. The interactive campaign, which featured the talking animals on the aircraft’s tails, asked people to vote for their favorite animal.
It was nominated in the category of “Outstanding Achievement in Advanced Media Technology for Best Use of ‘On Demand’ Technology.” The winner will be announced Jan. 7 at the International Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas.
The campaign included 15 different television commercials, other commercials on , a podcast with a “candidates” debate, an online campaign at with a blog, and special merchandise such as T-shirts, buttons and stickers featuring the animals.
Frontier announced at the end of the five-week campaign that the favorite animals were penguins Joe, Jim, Jay and Gary.
According to a news release issued by Frontier, “Flip the Dolphin is practicing his acceptance speech and Jack the Rabbit is trying to find a tuxedo that fits.”
