It was embarrassing, Jay Cutler was saying the other day.
What’s that? No, not the entire season, . Though, come to think of it, the entire season hasn’t exactly been one to write home about on the Internet.
Now comes the interesting part. In the next few weeks, Mike Shanahan and Pat Bowlen will sit down, as they always do in January, and discuss the season that was.
Oh, to be a fly on the wall when that conversation takes place. No, Shanahan can’t look Bowlen in the eye and tell him he likes the direction in which the team is headed.
There will be changes, lots and lots of them, but Shanahan won’t be one of them. It’s up to him to get the Broncos out of the mess he created.
