An armed robber who stole a lockbox containing thousands of dollars from an Aurora Wal-Mart late Sunday remains on the loose.
The suspect entered the store at 5650 S. Chambers Road armed with a handgun and grabbed the lockbox, which was attached to a cart, from two employees, said Bob Friel, Aurora Police Department spokesman.
The man threw the loot into the back of a silver Chevrolet Silverado and fled.
Police spotted the vehicle and stopped it not far from the store.
“The driver bolted with the handgun in hand,” Friel said.
A passenger, Dejuan Lamar Tippett-Moore, 27, was arrested on suspicion of aggravated robbery and transferred to the Arapahoe County Detention Center.
