National Jewish Medical and Research Center will ban the use of any form of tobacco on its campus on Jan. 1. The new policy applies to all employees, volunteers, patients and visitors.

Apartment Investment and Management Co. has entered into a joint venture agreement with a fund managed by J.P. Morgan Asset Management Inc. for the co-ownership of three multi-family properties with 1,382 units in West Los Angeles. AIMCO also declared a special dividend of Class A common stock of $2.51 per share. The dividend is payable Jan. 31 to stockholders of record Dec. 31.

International Royalty Corp. of Arapahoe County, announced that it has entered into a definitive purchase and sale agreement to acquire 16 mineral royalties from Rio Tinto PLC for $61.5 million in cash, plus a potential contingency payment.

Cimarex Energy Co. of Denver announced that it is selling its Gulf of Mexico Main Pass properties for $54 million. Cimarex also closed on its previously announced sale of certain West Texas Spraberry oil properties for $90 million.

Tapestry Pharmaceuticals Inc. of Boulder was notified by the Nasdaq Stock Market that its common stock had fallen below $1 for 30 consecutive business days and is not in compliance with its minimum price rule. Tapestry has until June 16 to regain compliance.

Duro Electric has donated a 2000 Chevy Express van to the Jeffco Action Center. The center will use the 1-ton cargo van to haul food to and from the center.

The Rocky Mountain Unit of Recording for the Blind and Dyslexic will host studio tours on Thursdays between 9 a.m. and 7 p.m. The tours, which are free and open to the public, can be arranged by calling Betsy Boudreau at 303-757-0787.

North Colorado Medical Center, a Banner Health facility in Greeley, announced that it will add a second helicopter to its medical air transport service and change the name of the program to North Colorado Med Evac, effective Feb. 1. The service will be operated in a partnership with Med-Trans Corp.

Level 3 Communications of Broomfield announced it has received a Technical Emmy Award for “Outstanding Achievement in Technical/Engineering Development” by The National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences. The award will be presented at the Annual Engineering & Technology Emmy Awards during the CES show in January.
