DENVER—The National Weather Service says Tuesday’s snowfall was Denver’s biggest-ever on Christmas Day.
The storm delivered nearly 8 inches of snow to the Mile High City, burying the previous Christmas Day record of just over 6 inches set in 1894.
Meteorologists say the latest storm boosted Denver’s December snow total above 15 inches—about 7 inches above average for the month.
Snow is expected to keep piling up in the metro area as another winter storm moves into Colorado. Denver is under a winter storm watch for Thursday with the weather service predicting additional snowfall of 4 to 6 inches by Thursday evening.
