Wal-Mart Stores Inc., the world’s largest retailer, shut down its video-downloading service, ending a challenge to Netflix Inc. and Apple Inc. less than a year after starting movie sales online. The discounter stopped selling video downloads Dec. 21, Wal-Mart spokeswoman Amy Colella said Friday.
Wal-Mart began offering 3,000 movies and TV shows in February amid price cutting by Netflix and Blockbuster Inc.
