FORT COLLINS, Colo.—Marcus Walker scored 16 points and Colorado State shook off a slow start to defeat Western State 87-47 Saturday night.
Western State (5-6) took an early 16-14 lead. After taking a timeout, Colorado State went on a 9-0 run to lead 23-16. The Rams (6-7) led 40-30 at halftime.
Colorado State had a 23-7 run in the second half for a 63-37 lead with 11:41 to go and kept extending the lead.
The Mountaineers shot 23 percent from the field.
Jeremy Brooks and Matt Pennetti each had 10 points to lead the Mountaineers.
