Celebrate a Colorado Moon

Alt-rocker Matthew Moon headlines the Pathways Church New Year’s Eve Celebration, 8:30 p.m. Monday, Temple Events Center, 1595 Pearl St., Denver; tickets $60 today or $75 at the door Monday, 720-427-5237

Acoustic rock.

Aurora native Matthew Moon spent the year touring with Peter Frampton and the Doobie Brothers, and one of his songs, “Foghorn Sound,” is featured on the upcoming soundtrack of “Truth About Kerry.” Tight songwriting and a lush sound characterize Moon’s increasingly popular music. His soothing, slightly angsty acoustic-rock invites comparisons to Jackson Browne, especially appealing to solitary New Year’s Eve revelers.
