FORT CARSON — About 170 Fort Carson soldiers are expected to start the new year back at their home post, returning from Iraq early today.

The soldiers are from the 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 2nd Infantry Division, which has been in Iraq for 15 months.

Post officials say a welcome ceremony is planned for 4 a.m. today.

The brigade has 3,600 soldiers. They began returning in October, and the last are expected to be home this month.
