MONTROSE, Colo.—A Montrose restaurant owner says someone stole her 230-pound safe and dumped it in a ditch after cutting a hole in it to remove cash.
Gigi Ann Bechthold didn’t say how much money was taken.
She says the safe was taken from Gigi Ann’s Marketplace and Restaurant sometime between 5 p.m. on New Year’s Eve and 2 p.m. on New Year’s Day. She says there were no signs of forced entry.
Bechthold says police are investigating.
