LAFAYETTE, Colo.—City officials say Lafayette City Attorney Jim Windholz died of a heart attack on New Year’s Day while in California for the funeral of his sister, who had died on Christmas Day.
The 65-year-old Windholz had been city attorney since May 2004. He was president of the Boulder law firm of Windholz & Associates and had served as acting city attorney for Golden and Sheridan.
A memorial service is planned but details are not yet complete.
