GREELEY — A 27-year-old man was arrested in connection with a deadly shooting Saturday night that may have been over a woman, police said Sunday.
Police responded just after 8 p.m. to a home in the 2500 block of Ash Avenue and found a 54-year-old man suffering from a gunshot wound.
The unidentified victim was rushed to North Colorado Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead shortly after his arrival.
Police investigators then executed a search warrant at a home in Eaton and arrested Mauricio Puente-Hernandez.
Puente-Hernandez was booked on a charge of first-degree murder, criminal mischief and harassment-domestic violence, and he is being held without bond. The case also is being referred to Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents for evaluation.
