Denver prosecutors filed a first-degree murder charge Monday against Isidoro Valdez-Ruelas in connection with the death of his 3-month-old daughter.
On Dec. 28, the baby was taken to Denver Health Medical Center and then transferred to Children’s Hospital, where she died two days later. Valdez-Ruelas, 24, is accused of shaking the baby and causing her death. He also is charged with child abuse resulting in death.
Valdez-Ruelas is being held without bail at the Denver County Jail and is scheduled to appear in Denver County Court for an advisement of the charges on Wednesday.
