Boulder County — Authorities today continued to investigate a home invasion and the kidnapping of a 45-year-old man that happened Saturday morning in the 4600 block of Greylock Street in the Heatherwood subdivision, northeast of Boulder.
Sheriff’s detectives obtained an arrest warrant for a suspect, James Richards, 38, of Westminster, on charges of kidnapping and first-degree burglary, felony menacing and false imprisonment.
Richards is described as 5-foot-10 and about 175 pounds, with brown hair and blue eyes. He is believed to be driving a red 1999 Volkswagen Passat with Colorado license plates 156-NLV, authorities said.
Sheriff’s deputies and Westminster police executed a search warrant early Sunday at Richards’ home in the 2900 block of West 81st Avenue. However, he was not found and remains at large, authorities said.
The victim and Richards are acquainted with each other, but authorities would not release details about the victim.
