A 3-year-old child is being treated at a Denver hospital after Grand County authorities responded to a 911 call for help.

The incident is being investigated by the Grand County Sheriff’s Office, said Undersheriff Walt Eldridge.

The sheriff’s office took the 911 call on “an unresponsive” child at about 1 p.m. Wednesday, Eldridge said.

The child was taken by ambulance to Granby Medical Center and later transported to Denver, Eldridge said.

The sheriff’s office, the Grand County district attorney’s office and the Colorado Bureau of Investigation are trying to determine the cause of the child’s injuries, Eldridge said.

Eldridge declined to disclose the injuries or give the address of the home the child was taken from, citing an “ongoing investigation.”
