BRECKENRIDGE — Two Texas men were arrested Wednesday after they used a ladder to climb up to second- and third-story condominium balconies to steal snowboards and skis, police said.
An alert victim foiled the caper when she spotted her stolen snowboard in the back of a pickup, said Kim Green, a police spokeswoman.
The woman and several other people, including theft victims, surrounded the truck and kept it from leaving the parking lot of the Pine Ridge Condominiums until police arrived.
Police arrested brothers Aaron David Fritsch, 22, and Drew Allen Fritsch, 19, both of Del Rio, Texas.
The suspects were in Colorado on a skiing vacation, Green said. They are being held in the Summit County Jail on suspicion of felony theft and criminal trespass.
