Llama Show. Llamas belong to the camel family and originated on the central plains of North America about 10 million years ago. Today they are raised for packing, wool production, cart pulling and guarding other livestock, such as sheep. Their wool is grease-free and lightweight, warm and luxurious. 5 p.m., Stadium Arena
$10,000 National Western Gambler’s Choice Open Jumper Stake. This ticketed event is a jumping competition with a rock ‘n’ roll atmosphere. Competitors jump a round of their choosing over a course of 10 to 14 jumps. The winning factor is usually the daring nature of the competitor, as the horses accumulate points. Riders can ultimately take the Joker Jump with the risk of gaining a large number of points, or losing those points from their accumulated total. 7:30 p.m., Events Center
