No charges will be filed against Broncos tight end Daniel Graham, according to his attorney Harvey Steinberg.

Graham, 29, was arrested early in the morning of Jan. 11 after his former girlfriend complained he was being argumentative and angry and wouldn’t leave her home. She said he hit a bed and damaged it.

He was arrested on charges of first-degree trespassing and criminal mischief. The charges were to be filed in court today, but the district attorney’s office agreed on Thursday not to file them, Steinberg said.

“This is the problem when police rush to arrest individuals without a complete, thorough and full investigation,” Steinberg said. “Once that was concluded, the police determined that Daniel Graham had done nothing wrong. And there was absolutely no basis to believe he had committed a crime.

“The police leaked the information to the press that he had been arrested. So now, how do we restore Mr. Graham’s stellar reputation?”

Graham, a son of former Broncos linebacker Tom Graham’s, played for Thomas Jefferson High School and Colorado. He was named the nation’s top collegiate tight end in 2001. He played five seasons with the New England Patriots before signing with the Broncos last March.
