Littleton Fire and Rescue responded to a house fire at 7202 S. Yukon St. today.
Officials said the blaze started about 11 a.m., when no one was home.
When firefighters arrived, the house was in flames, and responders had to immediately take a defensive position. It appeared to officials on the scene that the home would be a total loss.
One of the homeowners arrived as firefighters were working.
No cause has been determined, and the fire is under investigation.
