A 35-year-old Evans man died this morning when his 1998 Toyota Tacoma pickup went off the road in Larimer County, the State Patrol reported.
At about 2:45 a.m. today, the man was driving north on North Overland Trail just north of Double Tree Drive when he lost control, went off the road and hit an embankment. The truck rolled on its side, and the driver — who was not wearing a seat belt — was thrown out.
The motorist, identified this afternoon as Dominic X. Bernhardt, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The State Patrol is investigating speeding as a possible factor.
