John Lynch said on a television show that he has yet to make up his decision on whether he’ll return to the Broncos for his 16th NFL season.

Appearing on FSN’s Pro Football preview show on Friday, Lynch said he was still unsure of his future plans. Lynch, 36, is expected to soon announce whether he’ll come back to the Broncos or retire. There is a feeling at Dove Valley that Lynch will return to the team. If he plays, Lynch wants a continued, large role in the defense.

Coaching update

Karl Dorrell is expected to decide on his future in the next few days. He was in Kansas City and in Miami talking to the Chiefs and Dolphins this week.

He has a chance to coach the receivers for both teams. Denver has also reached out to Dorrell and will give him an opportunity to join the offensive staff, most likely coaching the receivers. If Dorrell doesn’t join the Denver staff, the team may not hire a receivers coach.

With assistant head coach in charge of offense Mike Heimerdinger going back to Tennessee as offensive coordinator, it is expected quarterbacks and receivers coach Jeremy Bates will have an expanded role and will be in charge of the passing game. Offensive coordinator Rick Dennison will stay in charge of the running game.
