Oscar nominations were to be announced at the crack of West Coast dawn this morning, but unless the writers strike is settled, come Feb. 24 we’ll be missing the celebrity parade and the big Academy Awards party. Star Saunders understood what we were talking about when we asked entrants to The Denver Post $25 Haiku Contest to ponder the topic of “best movies”:
