John Lynch is making it a perfect 4-for-4 in Pro Bowl appearances while with the Broncos.
Because of an injury to Colts safety Bob Sanders, the NFL defensive player of the year, Lynch was named to the AFC Pro Bowl team Tuesday.
Lynch was the first alternate when the voting was announced in December. Lynch, 36, has been named to nine Pro Bowls, second most for a safety in NFL history. Ken Houston made 10 consecutive Pro Bowls from 1970-79. Lynch’s ninth Pro Bowl could go a long way in helping him enter the Hall of Fame.
The Feb. 10 game in Honolulu could be Lynch’s last. He is considering retirement, although there is a growing sentiment at Dove Valley he will return for his 16th NFL season. Lynch has been with Denver since 2004.
