GREELEY, Colo.—Weld County District Attorney Ken Buck planned to announce Wednesday that he will seek re-election.
Buck said Tuesday that he made the decision “after much thought and prayer.”
“This office has accomplished many great things during the past three years and I would like to see us continue that tradition,” Buck said in a written statement.
Buck is well-known for his stance against illegal immigration. He held a forum on the issue last September that drew criticism from University of Northern Colorado’s President Kay Norton. She said the forum hurt the college’s recruitment efforts because it painted a picture of illegal immigration running rampant in the city.
Buck disputed her claim.
