DENVER—The Colorado Division of Wildlife says it will plow some of the snow off ice-covered Antero Reservoir because it’s blocking the sunlight that fish need to survive.
Wildlife biologist Jeff Spohn said Friday that snow has formed a 10-inch crust atop the ice, blocking the sunlight that helps create oxygen in the water.
Spohn says the need for sunlight is more pronounced at high elevations like Antero’s, near Fairplay.
