PUEBLO — The Colorado Water Congress has given former state Agriculture Commissioner Don Ament its top award for his work to preserve water.
The water group’s Wayne Aspinall Water Leader of the Year award is named after the Western Colorado Democrat who fought for decades in Congress to retain Colorado’s water rights.
