Faulk is the Pats’ most underrated offensive player, and Pierce is the best linebacker on the underrated Giants, who have only one Pro Bowl selection, DE Osi Umenyiora, picked as a reserve. Faulk became more important late in the season as opponents focused on receivers Randy Moss and Wes Welker. In the regular-season finale against the Giants, Faulk had eight catches for 64 yards and was Tom Brady’s go-to target in the second half. Faulk had eight receptions for 82 yards in the AFC championship game against San Diego. Pierce led the Giants with 103 tackles. So when Pierce is not keying on the Pats’ starting running back, Laurence Maroney, he will have to keep up with the versatile Faulk.
