Two suspects have been arrested in a string of six robberies in the south metro area over the last three months.
Cortney Darnell Clark, 19, of Denver, and a 17-year-old male face robbery and burglary charges, the Arapahoe County sheriff said today.
Clark’s bond was was set at $200,000. The juvenile is being held without bond.
Officials released information about the crimes and surveillance video of a suspect using a stolen credit card. The arrests are a result of tips generated by the story being in the news media, the Arapahoe County Sheriff’s Office said.
In the robberies, suspects followed people home and then threatened them with a gun in their driveways between 5:30 p.m. to 11:30 p.m.
The robbers demanded cash, purses, wallets and car keys, although they did not steal a car.
The first robbery happened Oct. 18; the last was Jan. 21.
Four of the robberies happened along the Smoky Hill Road corridor from South Chambers Street to E-470. One happened on East County Line Road and South Clarkson Street. And the only one that occurred in Douglas County happened in the area of South Quebec Street and MacArthur Ranch Road.
