A 26-year-old man has been arrested for allegedly shooting a woman inside a home after the two had argued.

The incident happened Saturday at about 12:40 a.m. in the 7700 block of West Glasgow Place, the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office said in a press release.

The sheriff’s office received a 911 call about a disturbance at the address, and the caller said a woman had been “hit” and was on her way to a hospital.

Deputies arrived at the home and interviewed a “large group” of witnesses, according to the release.

The victim and suspect had both left the home before deputies arrived.

The woman was treated at Littleton Adventist Hospital for a single gunshot wound to her shoulder. The suspect, identified by the sheriff’s office as Erik Shawn Leo Tafoya, turned himself in to authorities Sunday.

Tafoya was booked at the sheriff’s office on suspicion of attempted homicide and assault. He posted a $50,000 bond and was released, the sheriff’s office said.
