Two prisoners, including a woman convicted of manslaughter, were captured in Pueblo after scaling a razor-wire fence at La Vista Correctional Facility, officials say.

Captured were Amberae L. Archuleta, 25, who is serving a 12-year manslaughter conviction out of Otero County and Luawna Martin, 34, who is serving seven years for convictions including vehicular assault, burglary and marijuana possession.

A K9 unit from the Department of Corections’ Inspector General’s Office captured the two women without resistance at 9:20 p.m. last night, according to Katherine Sanguinetti, DOC spokeswoman.

The two female inmates escaped from the medium-security prison Monday evening near the center of the city of Pueblo.

Ari Zavaras, Executive Director of the Colorado Department of Corrections, said the Pueblo County Sheriff’s Office, the Pueblo Police Department, the Colorado State Patrol, as well as Colorado Department of Corrections’ investigators and escape team searched immediately for the women.
