DENVER—Gov. Bill Ritter expanded a program to provide rebates to homeowners who install solar electric and solar hot water systems statewide on Wednesday.
The plan will offer matching grants of up to $25,000 to cities, municipalities, utilities and nonprofit organizations for developing rebate programs. The money will come from a $1 million fund set up by the Gov.’s Energy Office.
Energy office director Tom Plant said homeowners could qualify for both rebate programs.
The Solar Residential Program will be run by the Colorado Solar energy Industries Association, a 227-member network of solar electric and solar hot water installers and dealers around the state.
