How to market a historic landmark
Historic Denver and Colorado Preservation Inc. are sponsoring the fifth annual Landmark Real Estate Seminar.
The seminar, part of the Saving Places 2008 conference, is designed to give real estate professionals the information they need to successfully market houses in historic districts and neighborhoods. The program covers issues such as maintenance, legal matters, tax benefits, marketing, architectural styles and researching the history of a property.
The seminar will be from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday at the Sherman Street Event Complex, 1770 Sherman St. Registration is $150. Realtors can earn eight continuing- education credits. For more information about the conference, visit .
Most of the comforts of home
Homewood Suites by Hilton broke ground last week on a 113-suite residential-style hotel at the Denver Tech Center.
Located at 199 Inverness Drive West, the four-story hotel will offer a 24-hour business center, hot breakfast, free wireless and wired Internet access, and complimentary grocery-shopping services.
The hotel is expected to open in June.
Building a “green” dream
Fort Collins author and radio personality Sara Lamia’s latest book details how to build a dream home using green building techniques.
“Housebirth: Your Guide to Buying an Energy-Efficient, Healthy New Home that Pays You Back” outlines a step-by-step process to building a home that pays owners back with improved energy efficiency and comfort.
The book provides information on choosing the right builder, checklists, product selection criteria, and guidance on functional design and features.

Guide to selling it yourself
has launched a new property-pricing report that covers 95 percent of U.S. homes.
The system offers a valuation tool that, when used with other . resources, provides consumers with a set of tools to sell and buy homes without paying commissions.
Reports will be provided free to customers who buy an “until sold” package. Others can buy the reports for $8.99 to $16.95.
