A former lieutenant in the Firestone Police Department is suing her old bosses in U.S. District Court for allegedly posting comments about her sexual history on a local community website.

Kelley Egan is suing the town of Firestone, the Police Department, Firestone Police Chief David Montgomery and Firestone police Sgt. David Lawley. Egan claims the sexual harassment she suffered while at the department — and the town’s refusal to do anything about it — caused her severe emotional distress.

Egan worked for the department from 1997 until she left in September 2006. As lieutenant, she was second in command.

In her suit, she says she had a month-long consensual relationship with Lawley in 2003, and when she informed Montgomery, he said no departmental policies had been violated.

But after she and Lawley broke up, Lawley became upset, the suit says.

Members of the department in February and March 2005 anonymously began posting information about Egan as well as her sexual history on Tri-Town.com, a community website . In court papers, the defendants in the case deny the allegations made by Egan.
