She also is one of 10 finalists for the Lowe’s Senior CLASS Award, which recognizes student-athletes in eight sports for their efforts in the four “Cs”: classroom, character, community and competition. Among the others nominated are Sylvia Fowles of LSU, Crystal Langhorne of Maryland and Candace Wiggins of Stanford.
Golf Expo
Mark Cramer, owner and manager of the annual Denver Golf Expo, believes he has one of the best jobs in the world. He sees so many people walk in with smiles on their faces.
“Everybody has been cooped up for the winter,” Cramer said. “They can come in here and have a golf experience.”
The 15th Denver Golf Expo runs today (10 a.m. to 6 p.m.), Saturday (9-5) and Sunday (10-4) at the Denver Merchandise Mart and Plaza, 58th Street and Interstate 25. The expo includes rules and golf swing clinics, an indoor driving range, golf retailers and representatives from golf courses, golf travel and club manufacturers. Cost is $10 for adults, $8 for seniors and $3 for youngsters 16 and younger.
