All lanes of northbound Interstate 25 between Interstate 70 and 58th Avenue have closed because of a water-main break.
It was unclear how long the closure would be in effect, the Colorado Department of Transportation said, but officials expect it to be a long one.
Denver Water reports a major break in a conduit that is 66 inches in diameter.
CDOT says the break created a sinkhole in the northbound lanes that is 40 feet by 40 feet and 3- to 4-feet deep.
