It’s been a year since Elbert Nakai’s body was found at the Gables Motel in Colorado Springs.

Authorities ruled Nakai’s death a homicide, but clues leading to his killer’s identity have not led to any arrests, according to Lt. Skip Arms of the Colorado Springs Police Department.

Nakai’s body was discovered at the hotel, 2818 N. Nevada Ave., on Feb. 21, 2007, Arms said.

Police continue to investigate his death but need help from those who know who is responsible, Arms said.

Anyone with information that could help solve the case is asked to contact Detective Luke Skifstad at 719-444-7536. They also can remain anonymous by calling Crime Stoppers at 719-634-STOP.
