The Boulder County Coroner’s office on Monday identified a man found dead in the burned-out shell of a Chevy van Saturday as 64-year-old Robert Charles Szklankowski of Boulder.

The body was found after city firefighters put out the burning vehicle in the 2700 block of Glenwood Drive, west of Glenwood Drive and Glenwood Court, about 5:30 a.m.

Police speculated over the weekend that the man may have been living in the van. The could not determine whether the fire was intentional or accidental.

The coroner’s office said the cause of his death is still under investigation, pending the results of lab tests.
