Colorado Springs police have identified a second suspect in the shooting deaths of two men and the wounding of two others at a party early Saturday.

Police are looking for Darneau Pepper, 35, in connection with the shootings at an apartment at 2133 Delta Dr.

A second man suspected in the shootings, Hiram Larry Sampson, 32, is behind bars at the El Paso County Criminal Justice Center after being arrested Sunday in northeast Colorado Springs on charges of first-degree murder.

The gunshots followed an argument, Colorado Springs police Lt. Skip Arms said in a release. “A group of people were at a party at the Delta Drive address when an argument began. The argument escalated to the point where it is alleged that shots were fired.”

Autopsies determined that Darrell Mitchell, 20, and Samone Robinson, 21, each died from a single gun shot to the head.

Derek Austin, 20, and Maurice Magazine, 21, were also shot but their injuries are not life-threatening.

Police found the two wounded men at a nearby Sonic Drive-In.

Pepper is 6 foot, 1 inch tall and 210 pounds and is considered dangerous.

The Colorado Springs Police Department is asking anyone with information about Pepper to either call 444-7000 or contact Crime Stoppers at 634-STOP if they wish to remain anonymous.
