With the signature pyrotechnics blasting balls of fire into the air, Andreas Wiig of Norway took the slopestyle title at the sixth annual Honda Session at Vail on Saturday night. Countryman Torstein Horgmo was second, followed by Chas Guldemond of Truckee, Calif.

Riders had 90 minutes to throw down as many runs as they could in the jam-format event that doubles as the unofficial opening of Vail’s terrain park on Golden Peak. Wiig’s best run included a backside rodeo 900, a switch 1080, backside 900, front- side 1080 and a huge “Craig Kelly” method grab.
