WALDEN, Colo.—Highway crews have finished clearing away two avalanches from Colorado 14 over Cameron Pass, but the road remains closed because of heavy snow and high winds.

The pass northwest of Rocky Mountain National Park was shut down Tuesday by the avalanches. No vehicles were caught in the slides and there were no injuries.

Colorado Department of Transportation spokeswoman Mindy Crane says the avalanche danger remains high.

U.S. 40 over Berthoud Pass has reopened after a brief closure Wednesday morning for avalanche control.
