Wednesday night crews finished paving over the western portion of a sinkhole created last week on northbound Interstate 25 near 56th Avenue when a water main broke.
Snow, however, could slow further work, the Colorado Department of Transportation warned.
CDOT must still cut joints and stripe the roadway and both tasks are weather-dependent.
Wednesday morning the three new northbound lanes opened for the morning commute. They are wider, allowing a return of the 55 mph speed limit.
CDOT spokeswoman Stacey Stegman said HOV/express lanes would be open today. The lanes had been used to position and move vehicles while repairs were being made.
When all repairs are made, I-25 will be restored to four through traffic lanes and two lanes that exit at 58th Avenue.
