GOLDEN, Colo.—A Jefferson County jury is deliberating the case of a former government official accused of demanding a kickback from one of his employees.

Former Jefferson County treasurer Mark Paschall is on trail facing a charges of attempted felony theft and compensation for past official behavior. Jurors heard closing arguments Thursday and are continuing deliberations Friday.

Paschall was indicted on January 2007 after a former aid alleged he solicited $9,000 from a bonus he had given her. Paschall denied he sought money from her. Paschall faces up to four years in prison if convicted of charges.
