PUEBLO — Police responding to a disturbance call about 4:30 a.m. Saturday found a man with fatal stab wounds to the chest lying in a bathroom at the Glen Royal Apartments.
Shortly after finding the body, police stopped a car near 13th Avenue and Baxter Street and arrested Isiah Anthony Vialpando, who, according to Pueblo police Sgt. Eric Bravo, they believe was the man who stabbed the victim, identified as Ruben Ortivez, 22.
Police reportedly found a knife owned by Vialpando at a different location and said it was used in the fatal stabbing.
Police said the victim and an unidentified woman were at a party in the apartment complex when Vialpando, the women’s boyfriend, showed up and stabbed Ortivez.
Vialpando has been charged with first-degree homicide, Bravo said.
