Frontier Airlines announced that its chief financial officer, Paul Tate, is resigning to accept a position outside the airline industry.

Tate’s resignation is effective March 21, and Frontier has begun the search for his successor.

Tate has been Frontier’s CFO since September 2001.

“Paul has been the guardian of our finances for almost seven years now, and he has guided us through what have arguably been some of our toughest financial times,” said Frontier chief executive Sean Menke in a statement. He added: “We thank him for his guidance, foresight and business acumen.”
