A 20-year-old Denver man was arrested in Loveland today on charges of impersonating a police officer and other charges after he handcuffed an underage girl, put her in the back of his car and drove away.
Witnesses called police, who stopped the 2005 Toyota Scion, arrested Jeremi Blake and found the girl unharmed.
Loveland police are investigating to see if Blake is connected to numerous reports of a police impersonator across the Front Range recently.
Blake also faces felony charges of kidnapping and false imprisonment.
Loveland police said Blake met the girl in an online chat room and arranged to meet her Tuesday around 2:30 at a park in the 2300 block of Silver Leaf Drive in Loveland.
When they met, Blake put the girl in handcuffs and told her she was under arrest, police said. When the girl asked to see his badge, he told her she could see it when she was in his car.
His photo was not released because it will be used in photo lineups to be shown to witnesses, police said.
Blake remained in the Larimer County Detention Center in Fort Collins tonight.
