COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. — Colorado Springs officials say Northwest Airlines is adding a nonstop flight this summer from Colorado Springs to Memphis, Tennessee.
The announcement was handed down Monday, just days after Frontier Airlines said it would start flights from Colorado Springs to Denver this spring.
The new service will give Colorado Springs residents an option for travel to the East Coast without first stopping in another city.
Eagan, Minnesota-based Northwest already provides service between Colorado Springs and its Minneapolis hub.
The flight to Memphis is scheduled to begin in mid-June on a regional jet operated by Pinnacle Airlines.
