The Nuggets have raised ticket prices for the 2008-09 season, though they will continue to be near the middle of the pack in the NBA in average ticket price at $61.50.

One-third of the Pepsi Center seats will be $22 or less, including the $10 tickets in the upper ends, which won’t change prices from this season. The seats with the highest price increase are the lower-level “center prime” area seats, which increased $11 — from $124 to $135. The most any upper-level seat changed was $4.

“This price adjustment is needed to continue to provide a competitive product at a fair price in the ultra-tough Western Conference,” said Paul Andrews, the executive vice president and chief marketing officer for Kroenke Sports Enterprises.

The Nuggets will continue to offer ticket promotions such as Pepsi Youth Nights (for select games, kids 14-and-under get in free with a paid adult), Rocky’s Den (day-of-game seat purchases for $5 in this area) and, Denver Post Family Nights (four tickets, four Pepsis, four DiGiorno’s pizzas and a $10 ESPN Zone card for a total of $59).

Martin a go.

Kenyon Martin, recovering from strep throat, did play against the Celtics and started out strong. In the first half, he scored 10 points and had four rebounds, finishing with 19 and six. He also was part of a scary incident. Boston’s Glen “Big Baby” Davis leapt to block a Martin shot, but Martin pump-faked, and the 6-foot-9, 289-pound Davis lost control, landing on Martin.

It was Boston coach Doc Rivers who said during the All-Star Weekend, “Glen Davis is undersized height- wise. Width-wise, he’s not.”

Rehabbing Atkins.

Guard Chucky Atkins, who has been out since Jan. 11 after sports hernia surgery, said he is likely to return to the court in mid-March.

He said it.

In regards to the Nuggets-Suns outdoor preseason game next season, Denver coach George Karl said: “I hope the wind’s blowing, because Phoenix is a 3-point shooting team.”
